Norbert Schwabbauer

Norbert Schwabbauer (born  May 30,  1967 in Augsburg ; † March 12, 2017 in Tübingen ) was a German respiratory therapist and medical author .

Life

Schwabbauer completed his first training as a nurse in 1993 . In 1997 he completed training as a specialist nurse for intensive care and two years later completed training as a mentor. He dealt with intensive care pneumology and completed his training as a respiratory therapist ( DGP ) in 2009 . Since then he has been working as a respiratory therapist in the pulmonary intensive care unit at the University Hospital Tübingen .

In addition to his work as a respiratory therapist, Schwabbauer gained a reputation as an expert beyond the borders of Tübingen through publications and congress lectures, training courses and workshops on specialist topics. The second edition of his book Secret Management in Respiratory Medicine , which he wrote together with Reimer Riessen , is available. He was particularly involved in the network for early mobilization of ventilated intensive care patients.

With one of his last publications he won the DIVI Valerius Prize posthumously in 2017.
