Norbert Studnitzky

Norbert Studnitzky (born May 23, 1936 in Hlučín (German formerly Hultschin), Hultschiner Ländchen , Czechoslovakia ) is a Czech - German composer , arranger and conductor , mainly in the field of brass music .

Life

Norbert Studnitzky studied orchestral conducting in Ostrava and at the Janáček Academy of Performing Arts in Brno . Then he was conductor at the Stadttheater Zeitz and in Reichenbach , guest conductor at the State Vogtland Orchestra and permanent guest conductor at the Leipzig Radio Orchestra . From 1970 until his retirement in 2000 he was director of the town band and director of the town's youth music school in Neuenbürg , where he has lived since 1969.

Norbert Studnitzky's son Sebastian (* 1972) is a jazz trumpeter, pianist and composer.
