Norbert Walter (politician)
Norbert Walter (born April 24, 1968 in Galtür / Tyrol ) is an ÖVP politician .
Norbert Walter graduated from the Franciscan Humanist High School in Hall in Tirol in 1988 . In 1989 he began studying agriculture / agricultural economics at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (Boku).
In 1995, Norbert Walter invented the international Alpine Cheese Olympiad in Galtür and has remained its organizer to this day.
In September 2002 he entered politics, he succeeded Wolfgang Gerstl as regional manager of the ÖVP Vienna. From October 2005 to November 2015, Norbert Walter was a member of the state parliament and councilor in Vienna with interruptions (during the time as a city councilor) . On January 15, 2007 he was appointed by the ÖVP Vienna to succeed Johannes Hahn as the non-executive Vienna City Councilor.
Due to the ÖVP defeat in the state and municipal council elections in Vienna in 2010 , Norbert Walter announced on October 12, 2010 that he would resign as regional manager of the ÖVP Vienna at the end of 2010.
Since 2006, Norbert Walter has been pressing his own wine in Vienna- Stammersdorf , which he sells under the name Weingut Walter Wien .
