Norimichi Kasamatsu

Norimichi Kasamatsu ( Japanese 笠 松 則 通 , Kasamatsu Norimichi ; * 1957 in Aichi Prefecture , Japan ) is a Japanese cameraman .

Before he finished his film studies at Nihon University in 1980 , he worked on Sōgo Ishii's independent film Kuruizaki Thunder Road with Tatsuo Yamada in the leading role as cameraman. The feature film, which deals with the conflicts within a biker gang ( Bōsōzoku ), marked the beginning of the collaboration between Kasamatsu and Ishii. The 35-minute short film Shuffle and the post-apocalyptic music film Bakuretsu toshi were also made together with him in the 1980s .

In Jūzō Itami's 1985 comedy Tampopo , he acted as camera assistant for Masaki Tamura . The German filmmaker Peter Sempel was able to win Kasamatsu for his experimental documentary film Dandy (1987), whose camera work he designed together with three others. He then worked on Junji Sakamoto's debut feature film Dotsuitarunen , which won several Japanese film awards and describes the story of a female boxer.

Joji Matsuoka's adaptation of a manga by Minetaro Mochizuki , Bataashi kingyo , and his second collaboration with Sakamoto, Tekken , won him the 1991 camera award at the Yokohama Film Festival . Other films by Joji Matsuoka, Junji Sakamoto and Sogo Ishii followed. He also made three films with Toshiaki Toyoda : Biriken (1996), the Yakuza film Pornstar (1998) and the drama Aoi haru (2001) based on a manga series by Taiyō Matsumoto .

At the Yokohama Film Festival 1995 he was awarded again for Takashi Ishii's two films Tenshi no harawata: Akai Senkō and Yoru ga mata kuru and for Sogo Ishii's thriller Enjeru dasuto . He received the same award and the camera prize at the Mainichi film competition in 2004 for Bokunchi , Sayonara, Kuro and Akame shijuya taki shinju misui . For Junji Sakamoto's war drama Bokoku no īgisu he was nominated at the Japanese Academy Awards 2006 in the category Best Cinematography . In 2011 and 2012 he received nominations for Akunin and Ooshikamura soudouki until he finally won the award in 2014 for The Unforgiven .
