Normandie is a post-hardcore / alternative rock band from Örebro , Sweden , formed in 2013 .

history

Normandie was founded in September 2013 by the singers Philip Strand and Johan Lindström, the two guitarists Joel Felix and Håkan Almbladh, as well as the bass player Stefan Timmerholm and the drummer Jesper Malmberg in the Swedish city of Örebro . Just a few days after the band was founded, the four-track EP named after the band was released on September 11th. In the meantime Johan Lindström and Joel Felix have left the group so that it functions as a quartet.

After the debut album Inguz was first released independently on February 19, 2016, the US independent record label inVogue Records signed the group and re-released the album on March 11 of the same year for the North American market. Between July 15 and 31, 2016, the group will tour several European countries and play at several music festivals, including Bochum Total , Rock den See and the Trebur Open Air . Bassist Johan Löfgren made his last appearance at Rock The North 2016. From December 7th to 18th, 2016, the group played in the opening act for Yellowcard on their farewell tour.

In early April 2018, the group announced that they had been signed to Easy Life Records . The debut album Inguz was also reissued with additional material.

Music genre

The group's music features simple, externally inspired melodies that are comparable to the new works of Bring Me the Horizon , but also to Five Finger Death Punch and Papa Roach . The group plays post-hardcore with influences from alternative rock , which at times can even pass as stadium rock suitable for the masses.
