North Country Trail
The North Country National Scenic Trail (NCT) is a long distance hiking trail located in the United States .
The trail is the longest National Scenic Trail with about 7400 km (in the final stage) and crosses seven states. From Crown Point in New York it goes through Pennsylvania , Ohio , Michigan , Wisconsin , Minnesota to Lake Sakakawea State Park in North Dakota . It has been opened in sections since 1980.
The NCT is administered by the National Park Service , a federal agency.
