North Ridgeville is a city in Lorain County in the American state of Ohio , about 30 km west of Cleveland . North Ridgeville has a population of over 22,000 (as of the 2000 census ).
North Ridgeville City Hall was listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) as a cultural monument in 1974 .
history
The place was first settled in 1810 by immigrants from Waterbury, Connecticut . Ridgeville Township was founded in 1813, but it was not until 1958 that the township received the status of a separate administrative unit (" Village "), and was renamed North Ridgeville. In 1960, North Ridgeville received city status when it exceeded the 5,000-inhabitant limit.
