Notre-Dame church

The Roman Catholic Church of Notre-Dame in Épiais-Rhus , a French commune in the Val-d'Oise department of the Île-de-France region , was built in the 16th century. The church has been a protected architectural monument ( Monument historique ) since 1911 .

history

The church was built between 1570 and 1590 according to the plans of the architect Nicolas Le Mercier. A keystone of a vault with the Montmorency coat of arms suggests that the church was built with their support. The three-aisled church with a transept and a choir was provided in 1621 by Denis Le Mercier on the side aisles and in the choir with arched windows. The tower, equipped on all sides with arched and coupled windows, is crowned by a stone roof with small openings. Above the portal there is a triangular gable that rests on columns . The facade is structured on all sides by pillars .

Leaded glass window

Agnus Dei

There are only small remains of the original leaded glass windows from the 17th century, some of which are marked with the year 1642. A medallion represents the Lamb of God on the book with seven seals .
