The Rossocha ( Russian Россоха ; also Rassocha , Russian Рассоха ) is a left tributary of the Alaseja in the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) in Russia , in northeast Siberia beyond the Arctic Circle .
The Rossocha arises in the north-western part of the Kolyma lowlands from the source rivers Arga-Jurjach from the left and Ilin-Jurjach from the right. The 312 km long Arga Jurjach in turn arises from the short headwaters Seja (21 km) and Taba Bastaach (20 km), in 300- 400 m height in the central part of the Ulachan-Sis-back spring. The 178 km long Ilin-Jurjach arises from the source rivers Chotol (159 km) and Tschaskina-Sjane (102 km) on the western edge of the Kolyma lowland. The length of the actual Rossocha is 453 km; with the longest source rivers Ilin-Jurjach and Chotol it is 790 km. It flows strongly meandering in a north-easterly, later mainly easterly direction through the Kolyma lowlands to its confluence with the Alaseja, a good 40 km north-east of the village of Andrjuschkino on the right Alasejaufer . Its catchment area covers 27,300 km².
The Rossocha flows through a lake-rich, swampy and very sparsely populated area without any infrastructure, first in Ulus Srednekolymsk , then to the mouth in Ulus Nizhnekolymsk . There are no towns directly on or in the vicinity of the river; The village of Aleko-Kjujol lies on a right tributary of the Ilin-Jurjach.
