The inhabitants of the Chaouia region trace their ancestry back to Arab origins. The people of today's city are mostly of Berber descent and mostly immigrated here from the mountain and desert regions of southern Morocco in the second half of the 20th century.
Economy and history
A rural community oriented towards small farmers at the beginning of the 20th century, since the independence of Morocco (1956), Nouaceur has developed into a service-oriented city in which the Aéroport International Mohammed V with the associated transport and logistics companies plays the main role. Numerous smaller commercial and craft companies have settled in the surrounding area.
