Novaspace
Novaspace was a German dance-pop project that most recently consisted of music producer Felix J. Gauder and singer Jenny Marsala . From the founding of the project in 2002 to 2007, Jessica Boehrs was the singer of the formation. All singles and albums were released by the Munich label Konsum Records . In 2011 the band members parted ways.
Career
First successes and album "Supernova"
The Stuttgart producer Felix Gauder used the singer Jessica Boehrs from Magdeburg , who had already sung in the background of Caught in the Act and Tic Tac Toe , for his new music project . The band's first single was released in May 2002. The song Time After Time , a cover version by Cyndi Lauper , made it into the German Top 10 and was also listed in Australia, the Netherlands and Great Britain. The band's second song was To France and was originally written by Mike Oldfield . With the third single, Guardian Angel , Novaspace once again made it into the German Top 10. The debut album Supernova was released in early 2003.
Ongoing success
A year after their musical debut, Gauder and Boehrs released the song Run to You (originally by Bryan Adams ), the forerunner of the second album Cubes . This was released at the beginning of February 2004 and reached number 27 in the German album charts. With Beds Are Burning , a song by Midnight Oil from 1987, the formation achieved their greatest success to date. The song reached rank 7 in Germany and rank 2 in Austria. With So Lonely and Dancing with Tears in My Eyes two more singles were released in 2004.
At this time Novaspace and especially singer and front woman Jessica Boehrs appeared on The Dome , the Apres Ski hits and Top of the Pops .
Last publications in the old constellation
With All Through the Night , originally by Cyndi Lauper, the last single with Jessica Boehrs as singer was released in June 2006. The corresponding album DJ Edition reached number 68 in the German album charts. Since Jessica Boehrs had previously worked as an actress, including in the Hollywood film Eurotrip , she left Novaspace in 2007 to devote herself to acting.
Novaspace - Next Generation / Separation
In January 2008 it was announced that a new singer was being sought for the Novaspace project, who was later found in Jenny Marsala. The first single Dancing into Danger was released on January 2, 2009 under the band name Novaspace - Next Generation . Another change took place, as the band's CDs have since been released on the record label EMI . With the singles Time After Time - Rebirth and Love Changes Everything , Novaspace did not enter the German charts, but celebrated great success in Eastern Europe.
In 2011 the formation split up. From now on, singer Jenny Marsala is solo and releases German pop songs, including "Feuer" in 2017 and "Dilemma" in 2019
