The district borders on Warszawskie to the north and northeast , the historical part of Wesoła to the south and Kleparz to the west .

history

After 1844 the Kraków Główny Railway Station was built, which is now in the center of the New Town. From 1859 to 1951 the area belonged to the sixth Krakow district of Wesoła. When the small-scale urban structure was dissolved in 1973, the Śródmieście (inner city) district was established in 1990 .

At this time, plans to redesign the area around the station became more concrete. The first tender was won in 1998 by Tishman Speyer Properties . After they returned the order and the following modifications, the project was developed by ECE Projektmanagement . The first work began in 2003/2004.
