The Nusa was a German steam yacht in the service of the Imperial Gouvernement of German New Guinea . In 1914 she became Australian spoils of war and put into service as HMAS Nusa . The final fate is unknown.

history

The Nusa was put into service in 1914 before the outbreak of the First World War and served as a station steamer for the Landesfiscus Deutsch-New Guinea in Rabaul . The ship was managed by Norddeutscher Lloyd . As a station steamer, the Nusa carried the so-called imperial colonial flag of the Imperial Colonial Office . On September 13, 1914, the yacht was confiscated by the Australian Naval and Military Expeditionary Force (AN & MEF) and the Royal Australian Navy and put into service as HMSA Nusa .

On October 9, 1914, the Nusa was involved in the landing of the German government yacht Komet in Komethafen . It then served the Australian occupation and administrative authorities until the Second World War . Her final fate is unknown.
