Nusplingen is a suburb of the municipality of Stetten am kalten Markt in the district of Sigmaringen in Baden-Württemberg .

Geographical location

The place Nusplingen is in the district of Stetten am kalten Markt about 1.9 kilometers east-southeast of the center of Stetten am kalten Markt on the road to Gutenstein . Nusplingen is located on the Großer Heuberg and is part of the Upper Danube Nature Park .

history

The first documentary mention comes from the year 842. Salomon and his mother Meginrada bequeath their property to the monastery of St. Gallen .

The common history of Stetten and Nusplingen began in May 1342 when Count Heinrich von Hohenberg sold Nusplingen and Stetten to the Lords of Jungingen .

Nusplingen was an independent municipality in the Baden district office of Meßkirch and also belongs to the Baden lake district .

In the course of an administrative reform ordered by the National Socialists, Nusplingen was incorporated into Stetten am Kalten Markt on April 1, 1936. From 1939 it belonged to the Stockach district and from 1973 to the Sigmaringen district .

Culture and sights

Buildings

The Catholic Chapel of St. Martin ( Three Kings Chapel ) is located in Nusplingen . A chapel dedicated to Saints Martin and Leo was mentioned for the first time in 889. For generations the patronage has been celebrated on the day of the Magi , as evidenced by an old Gothic altarpiece of the Adoration of the Magi on the main altar.
