Nyandika Maiyoro

Nyandika Maiyoro (* 1931 ; † February 24, 2019 in Kisii ) was a Kenyan middle and long distance runner .

Life

In 1954 he was fourth over three miles at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Vancouver .

Two years later, at the Olympic Games in Melbourne in 1956 , he was one of the first team that Kenya sent to the Olympic Games, and was seventh over 5000 m .

While he was only twelfth over three miles at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Cardiff in 1958 and was eliminated over a mile in the lead, he came in sixth place at the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome over 5000 m with his personal best of 13:52 , 8 min.
