Kisii is a city in the southwest of Kenya with around 70,000 inhabitants (as of 2002). Kisii is the capital of the county of the same name .
The name of the city is derived from the Kisii or Gusii people who live here . This speaks the Bantu language Kisii .
Geographical location
Kisii is located in southwest Kenya at an average of 1700 m above sea level. NN just south of the equator .
climate
The city is located in the tropical climate zone , but because of its altitude it has a very pleasant climate for Europeans. The temperatures are very constant throughout the year and there is rain almost every day.
economy
There's a little industry. Essentially, the city is shaped by coffee, tea and other agricultural products, as the surrounding land is very fertile. The nearby soapstone quarries in Tabaka with the largest deposits in the world and the further processing of the stones to make tourist souvenirs are still to be mentioned.
