Munyoro Nyamau

Munyoro Nyamau ( Hezekiah Munyoro Nyamau ; born December 5, 1942 in Kisii ) is a former Kenyan sprinter .

At the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City, he competed in the 400-meter run and reached the semi-finals. The Kenyan team in the 4-by-400-meter relay with the cast of Charles Asati , Nyamau, Naftali Bon and Daniel Rudisha surprisingly won silver in 2: 59.64 minutes behind the US relay, whose world record of 2: 56.16 minutes was not undercut until 1992.

At the British Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh in 1970 , the Kenyan relay won with the cast of Nyamau, Julius Sang , Robert Ouko and Asati. In September 1970, a Kenyan team with Nyamau, Bon, Ouko and Thomas Saisi set a world record in the 4-by-880-yard relay with 7: 11.6 minutes.

At the 1972 Olympic Games , Nyamau was eliminated in the 400-meter run in the quarter-finals. In the season, Kenya was the only one under three minutes with 2: 59.83 minutes and won gold in the cast Asati, Nyamau, Ouko and Sang.

Munyoro Nyamau is 1.70 m tall and weighed 68 kg during his playing days.
