Naftali Bon

Naftali Bon (born October 9, 1945 in Kapsabet ; † November 2, 2018 ibid) was a Kenyan athlete .

The 1.77 m tall and 61 kg heavy middle-distance runner achieved his most significant success in the 4 x 400 meter relay at the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City . The Kenyan relay won the silver medal behind the United States and ahead of the Federal Republic of Germany in the line-up of Daniel Rudisha , Munyoro Nyamau , Bon and Charles Asati with a time of 2: 59.64 minutes. Bon started in Mexico City in the 400-meter run , but was eliminated in the quarter-finals.

On September 5, 1970, Bon was involved in setting a world record in London . A Kenyan relay with the formation of Bon, Nyamau, Thomas Saisi and Robert Ouko ran the 4-by-880-yard distance in 7: 11.6 minutes.

Naftali Bon's greatest individual successes were his victories in the 800-meter run at the East and Central African Championships in 1969 and 1970.
