Daniel Rudisha

Daniel Matasi Rudisha (born August 11, 1945 in Kilgoris , Rift Valley ; † March 6, 2019 ) was a Kenyan athlete who specialized in the 400-meter run .

He won the silver medal in the 4-by-400-meter relay at the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City . The Kenyan relay placed Rudisha, Munyoro Nyamau , Naftali Bon and Charles Asati with 2: 59.64 minutes behind the United States and ahead of the Federal Republic of Germany . Rudisha started in Mexico City in the 400-meter run, but was eliminated in the quarter-finals.

Daniel Rudisha was 1.80 m tall and weighed 76 kg during his active time. His son David Lekuta Rudisha is an Olympic champion, world champion and world record holder in the 800-meter run .
