OCI Company (formerly Oriental Chemical Industries ) is a South Korean chemical company. OCI manufactures basic chemicals such as calcium chloride , sodium carbonate , sodium percarbonate , polycrystalline silicon , fumed silica , nitrogen trifluoride and hydrogen peroxide , carbon chemicals such as carbon black , BTEX and phenols as well as specialty chemicals for the solar industry.

OCI was founded in 1959. In 1968 the company built a soda factory in Incheon . In 1976, OCI started producing calcium phosphate , 1978 in pesticides and 1979 in hydrogen peroxide. In the 1980s, the product range was further diversified.

The subsidiary OCI Resources mined the mineral Trona in Wyoming , which is processed into sodium carbonate ( ). The plant was taken over by Rhône-Poulenc in 1995 . In 2015 this business area was sold to Ciner Holding . World icon
