The OFF OFF stage was founded in 1993/94 after the success of David Mamet's Sexual Perversity production in Chicago . The actor Pascal Ulli produced this multimedia film theater together with Igor Bauersima , Ingrid Sattes and Alexander Seibt .

The four decided to continue working together and founded the OFF OFF stage, named after the Off-Off stages on Broadway in New York City .

Teamwork resulted in other productions, Igor Bauersima's nine own pieces and works by other contemporary dramatists, which he also directed. The group used method acting and consequently film and introduced the term film theater in Zurich.

The productions Tourist Saga (1995), Forever Godard (1998) and Context (1999) are selected from three hundred productions by the German theater festival Impulse and invited to city tours in 1995, 1998 and 1999 in North Rhine-Westphalia .

The OFF OFF stage received the 1998 challenge cup as the best independent theater production in the German-speaking area, as well as a TV recording by ZDF / 3sat for Forever Godard .

In 2004 the OFF OFF stage was dissolved.
