Verizon Media , which was named Oath until January 2019 , is a US company founded in 2017 with headquarters in New York City and Sunnyvale . It is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Verizon Communications . The company is an amalgamation of over 50 media and technology companies, including AOL and Yahoo , with a total of one billion customers; it is directed by K. Guru Gowrappan.

Verizon announced the acquisition of AOL in May 2015 and the acquisition of Yahoo in July 2017. The rest of the Yahoo! Inc. were combined under Altaba Inc. Until the transaction was completed, the companies were managed by their respective board members.

The main offices of AOL and Yahoo will become the headquarters of Verizon Media. These are in New York City and Sunnyvale . Verizon Media has additional locations in Australia, Belgium, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Canada, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand and distributed in the United States of America.
