The Obří důl (German name: Riesengrund ) is a valley below the Schneekoppe in the Czech part of the Giant Mountains and extends to the place Pec pod Sněžkou (Petzer). The valley is characterized by steep, sub-alpine slopes. At the edge a cable car leads to the summit of the Schneekoppe, through the valley there is a hiking trail that is only open in the summer months, as there is a risk of avalanches in winter.
Except for one hiking trail, Obří důl is not open to tourists. Iron and copper ore was mined in the valley in the 19th century; today it is part of the Krkonošský národní park (KRNAP) Giant Mountains National Park and is home to rare plants such as cloudberries and edelweiss .
