The Diocese of Hazaribag ( lat. : Dioecesis Hazaribaganus ) is in India situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Hazaribag . Its area includes the districts of Hazaribagh , Kodarma and Chatra , as well as the district of Bokaro with the exception of the eastern part, which belongs to the diocese of Jamshedpur .

history

The Diocese of Hazaribag was established on April 1, 1995 by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Cum ad aeternam from cessions of territory from the Diocese of Daltonganj and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Ranchi as a suffragan . First Bishop was Charles Soreng SJ .
