Jojo Anand

Jojo Anand (born May 17, 1959 in Minjiutgarha-Kutungia ) is an Indian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Hazaribag .

Life

Jojo Anand first attended the boys' seminar in Ranchi and then studied in Ranchi, Mangalore and Jabalpur . He was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Ranchi on April 24, 1992 . With the establishment of the diocese Simdega on May 28, 1993 he was incardinated in its clergy .

After various pastoral and catechetical tasks, he studied from 2001 to 2005 in Rome at the Pontifical University of the Salesians and obtained a licentiate in catechetics. From 2005 to 2007 he was vicar general of the Simdega diocese. He was then responsible for evangelism and religious education as well as for the seminarians of the diocese.

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him Bishop of Hazaribag on September 8, 2012 . The Archbishop of Ranchi, Telesphore Placidus Cardinal Toppo , ordained him episcopal on December 8th of the same year; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Patna , William D'Souza SJ , and Charles Soreng SJ, Former Bishop of Hazaribag.

On July 7, 2016, he was appointed Apostolic Administrator of Daltonganj for the period of the Sedis vacancy .
