Oberaltenbuch is a district in the municipality of Altenbuch in the Lower Franconian district of Miltenberg ( Bavaria ). The municipality of Oberaltenbuch existed until 1938.

Until the church is planted

Oberaltenbuch (previously belonging to the Kartause Grünau ) was mediatized in 1806 in the Principality of Aschaffenburg . Since the treaties of Paris in 1814, Upper and Lower Old Books have belonged to Bavaria . In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria, the municipal edict of 1818 created the municipalities of Ober- and Unteraltenbuch.

Administrative history

In 1862 the district office of Marktheidenfeld was formed, on whose administrative territory the two communities were located. On April 1, 1938, Ober- and Unteraltenbuch were merged to form the political municipality of Altenbuch. In 1939, as everywhere in the German Reich, the designation district was introduced. Altenbuch was now one of the 47 communities in the Marktheidenfeld district . With the dissolution of the Marktheidenfeld district, Altenbuch moved to the newly formed Miltenberg district on July 1, 1972 .
