The Oberamt Güglingen (until 1759: Amt Güglingen ) was an old Württemberg administrative district, which in 1810, with the reorganization of the administrative units in the new Kingdom of Württemberg, was mainly part of the Oberamt Brackenheim . According to the Royal Württemberg State Handbook, the office was a nine-hour walk from Stuttgart.

history

Güglingen , which had town charter since the end of the 13th century, was ruled by the lords of Neuffen from the 12th century , with the towns of Pfaffenhofen , Weiler and Ochsenbach . The decline of this noble family at the end of the 13th century was used by the Counts of Württemberg to acquire larger areas, which they combined to form the Güglingen office.

The Obervögte in Zabergäu oversaw the Güglingen office. After the general and final abolition of the upper bailiffs in 1755, the previous subordinate, who had actually carried out official business long before, received the title of senior bailiff in 1759.

After the formation of the Kingdom of Württemberg, in the course of the state reorganization, the Oberamt Güglingen was initially enlarged to include the previous Ochsenburg staff office. Just one year later, on April 25, 1808, the Güglingen Upper Office was incorporated into the Brackenheim Upper Office and subordinated to the Landvogtei Am lower Neckar .

Communities

According to an ordinance of Count Eberhard des Greiners from 1380, the Württemberg territory (town and office Güglingen) included the district town and the three places of origin Pfaffenhofen, Weiler and Ochsenbach in addition to the towns of Eibensbach , Frauenzimmern and Spielberg . Later came Häfnerhaslach which Rodbachhof, Sternenfels , and the part of Leonbronn and Kürnbach added.

In 1807/08 the Oberamt Güglingen included the following communities with a total of 7,432 inhabitants:

  • Güglingen 1178 souls
  • Eibensbach 282 souls
  • Women 512 souls
  • Häfnerhaslach 576 souls
  • Kürnbach 421 souls (only third)

  • Pfaffenhofen 804 souls (also: Hof Rodbach 21 souls)
  • Spielberg 250 souls
  • Sternenfels 638 souls

In 1807, the Ochsenburg staff office added the following communities:

  • Leonbronn 396 souls (some of them had previously belonged to the Güglingen office)
  • Michelbach 301 souls
  • Ochsenburg 447 souls (had town charter until 1807; also: Riesenhof 18 souls)
