Eibensbach is a village in the Heilbronn district in northern Baden-Württemberg , which has been a district of Güglingen since 1975 .

geography

Eibensbach is located at the northern foot of the Stromberg , two kilometers south of Güglingen.

history

The history of Eibensbach is closely linked to Blankenhorn Castle , a Hohenstaufen castle built around 1220/1235 south of the town to which the town belonged. Castle and village came to Württemberg in the 14th century . Eibensbach was first mentioned in a document on October 27, 1380. As early as the 17th century, the castle was only a ruin. Until 1808 the place belonged to the office Güglingen . Eibensbach came to the Oberamt Brackenheim as an independent municipality in 1808 when the new administrative structure was implemented in the Kingdom of Württemberg . During the administrative reform during the Nazi era in Württemberg , the place came to the district of Heilbronn in 1938 . In 1933 there were 319 inhabitants, in 1939 there were 326 and at the end of 1945 there were 354. On January 1, 1975, Eibensbach and Güglingen were united to form the new town of Güglingen.

coat of arms

The blazon of the former municipal coat of arms of Eibensbach reads: A black crossbow (yew) in silver.

Attractions

Above Eibensbach, at an altitude of 390 m on the summit of the Blankenhorn, is the ruin of Blankenhorn Castle , a Hohenstaufen castle built around 1220/1235 and first mentioned in 1241 . The Marienkirche in Eibensbach was probably built when the castle and town were founded.
