Oberehrenbach is one of seven officially named districts of the municipality of Leutenbach in the Upper Franconian district of Forchheim .

The church village is located about four kilometers south-southeast of Leutenbach and is at an altitude of 388  m above sea level. NHN .

history

The first written mention of Oberehrenbach took place on November 1st, 1007 in a document from the then East Franconian King Heinrich II . The place was of particular importance due to its geographical location, as it was on an old connecting road that led from the Bavarian south to the Franconian north.

After it was incorporated into the Kingdom of Bavaria at the beginning of the 19th century, the administrative reforms carried out by the latter made it an independent rural community. This was incorporated into the municipality of Leutenbach on May 1, 1978 as part of the municipal territorial reform carried out in Bavaria in the 1970s . In 2018 Oberehrenbach had 279 inhabitants.

The connection to the public road network takes place via the district road FO 14 , which comes from the north-west of Mittelehrenbach and runs through the village and continues in a south-east direction to Kasberg .
