history

Until the 19th century

Peoplebach was most likely founded before the year 1000. The castle of the Lords of Ludunbach (also: Leutenbach, Ludenbach) is attested between 1079 and 1203, it was probably on the southeastern Burgstein, and is identical to the Burgstein castle stable . People brook in today's administrative district of Upper Franconia came to the Bamberg monastery after the family died out . Since the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss of 1803, the place, like large parts of Franconia, has belonged to Bavaria (see also History of Franconia ).

Incorporations

The current community of Leutenbach was created on May 1, 1978 on the occasion of the municipal reform in Bavaria from the communities of Leutenbach, Mittelehrenbach and Oberehrenbach, which were established in 1818.

The description of the coat of arms reads: “In gold, an oblique left blue wavy bar; at the top an upright black spear with a waving red flag, sprinkled with six six-pointed golden stars; below a black battlement wall. ”The red and yellow municipal flag approved at the same time is not used.

There are breweries Drummer in Leutenbach and Alt in Dietzhof in the community.

societies

The Franconian Switzerland Association e. V. has one of 45 local groups in the region in Leutenbach. The local group was founded in 1968. After a few years, the association stopped its activities. The local group started over with a completely new team in 1981.

The Volksbach-Dietzhof volunteer fire brigade has 231 members, 5 honorary members and 44 children and young people (as of January 12, 2014).

The following volunteer fire brigades are sponsoring associations: Hundsboden, Ortspitz-Seidmar, Pinzberg and Kirchehrenbach.

The Kultur- und Förderverein e. V. Leutenbach (renamed: 2004) was originally founded in 1948, he is currently involved in holiday programs, designing children's playgrounds, organizing excursions for "young and old" as well as organizing various courses and since 1995 with the establishment and management of the theater group People Bach.

The fruit and horticultural association Leutenbach e. V. has 79 members and deals with garden culture, land beautification, homeland maintenance, nature and environmental protection. In its 6,000 square meter club garden (information garden) at the Mühlweiher numerous fruit trees and flower beds are shown.
