Kleinsendelbach is a municipality in the Forchheim district ( Upper Franconia administrative region ) and a member of the Dormitz administrative community .

Geographical location
The community is located about 15 kilometers east of Erlangen and about 15 kilometers north of Nuremberg in the Schwabach valley . Kleinsendelbach is the southernmost village in Upper Franconia.

history
Until the church is planted
The districts were first mentioned in a document in 1062. Kleinsendelbach in today's administrative district of Upper Franconia belonged to the Bamberg Monastery , which was in the Franconian Empire from 1500 onwards . With the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss of 1803, the place came to Bavaria. In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria , today's municipality was created with the municipal edict of 1818 .
20th century
In 1982 Kleinsendelbach was named the most beautiful village in the Forchheim district.
Traffic history
Kleinsendelbach used to have a train station on the Erlangen-Eschenau Railway , but it has now been closed.

mayor
The first female mayor has been Gertrud Werner (Independent Voting Group) since 2008. Josef Elsinger (Independent Voting Group) was elected as deputy. Predecessors were Albert Güßregen from 2002 to 2008, Alfred Schramm from 1975 to 2002 and Willi Kupfer from 1960 to 1975. All three belonged to the Kleinsendelbach village community.
Municipal council
The municipal elections in 2014 and 2020 led to the following allocation of seats in the municipal council:

The description of the coat of arms reads: "Above a shortened tip, divided diagonally by red and silver, split by blue and gold, in front a left-facing silver wolf head, behind a red-tongued black lion head, which is covered with a silver sloping bar."

- The lakes to the west of the community in the direction of Dormitz, the shore area of which is largely a nature reserve (breeding birds, rare plants). There is an information board coming from Kleinsendelbach at the fork in the road. There is partly a path on the bank. The western lake is used as a bathing lake, especially in midsummer, and is usually very busy on weekends.
