history

Unterleinleiter was a manor . The gentlemen "Motschiedler von Gerau" were named in 1372 as the first owners of "Leyreuther". In the 16th century the place passed to the Lords of Stübig and the Streitberg . The estate fell victim to the Peasants' War in 1523 , but was soon rebuilt.

The von Streitbergs sat at Leinleiter as early as the 14th century. They were initially lords of the castle, then from 1530 also lords of the church. In 1559 the allodial possessions in Streitberg came to the Lords of Dienheim, then to those of Wechmar.

In 1690 almost the whole village went up in flames again. Around 1700 the Lords of Lüchau were sitting on the manor. From 1757 it was acquired by the von Seckendorff barons through marriage. Thus the place was in the Franconian knight circle . With the Rheinbund act 1806 the place came to Bavaria . The rights of von Seckendorff had always been contested by the Bamberg Monastery, so that large parts of the municipality fell to Bavaria as early as 1803 with the secularization . In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria, the municipality was created with the municipal edict of 1818 . In 1952 the Barons von Seckendorff gave up their castle in Unterleinleiter. Unterleinleiter belonged to the municipal reform the district Ebermannstadt . On April 1, 1971, the place Dürrbrunn was incorporated from the dissolved municipality of the same name, in 1972 the district became part of the Forchheim district.
