history

Until the end of the 18th century, Mittelehrenbach was subject to the jurisdiction of the Forchheim Central Office, which was part of the Bamberg monastery. The manorial ownership in the place was divided among several bailiffs, including the Bamberg office of Neunkirchen , the Brandenburg-Bayreuth Oberamt Baiersdorf and several noble families. The Bamberg Oberamt Forchheim only held the bailiwick of a single farm , but still exercised village and community rule in Mittelehrenbach. When the Bamberg Monastery was secularized as a result of the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss 1802/03 and annexed by the Electorate Palatinate-Baiern in breach of the Imperial Constitution , Schlaifhausen also became part of the New Bavarian territories that were taken over during the Napoleonic land consolidation .

As a result of the administrative reforms carried out in the Kingdom of Bavaria at the beginning of the 19th century , Mittelehrenbach became an independent rural community with the second municipal edict in 1818, which also included the village of Ortspitz and the hamlet of Seidmar . The entire municipality of Mittelehrenbach was finally incorporated into the municipality of Leutenbach on May 1, 1978 in the course of the municipal territorial reform carried out in Bavaria in the 1970s . In 2018 Mittelehrenbach had 409 inhabitants.

traffic

The connection to the public road network is mainly established by the state road St 2242 , which, coming from the north-northwest of Dietzhof , continues after passing through the town to Kunreuth , about a kilometer west-southwest , where it crosses the state road St 2236 . In addition, the district road FO 14 leads from Mittelehrenbach in a south-easterly direction to Oberehrenbach and the FO 36 connects the place with the Haidhof , located about three and a half kilometers to the east , which is already part of the city of Graefenberg .
