geography

The brook arises on the western outskirts of Reissig at an altitude of 395  m above sea level. NHN . From here it flows in predominantly eastern directions through Reissig. His path through the Reissigwald begins on the eastern edge of the village . After 1.7 km the Rosenbach flows into 320  m above sea level. NHN in the White Elster . The Rosenbach drains a catchment area of around 1.04 km² via the Weisse Elster, Saale , Elbe to the North Sea . With a height difference of 75 m, the mean bed slope is 44 ‰.

history

The sewage from a tire factory and a pig farm used to be discharged into the Rosenbach. This pollution ended after the end of the GDR . An industrial area has been created on the area of ​​the fattening farm, the surface water of which is collected in a retention basin when it rains heavily and gradually released into the Rosenbach.
