The Obere Schwärziseeli (officially partly also: Blaubergsee ) is a small mountain lake at 2649 m above sea level. M. in the Central Swiss Alps . Together with two smaller lakes a little to the east, the Middle and the Lower Schwärziseeli , it forms the group of lakes located high on a small mountain plateau in the middle of extensive scree fields, from which the Reuss , or, more precisely, its main source river, the Furkareuss , rises.
The lakes are located in the municipality of Realp in the canton of Uri , about 1.5 kilometers southeast of the Furka Pass on the eastern slope of the Blauberg and a little below the Blaubergpass, which leads west from the Urserental and Furkapass into the Upper Alpine Valley in the Canton of Valais . Another footpath branches off from the pass path at the middle lake and runs east over the Stotzigen Firsten ridge to Alp Deieren in Muttental south of Realp, from which the Muttenreuss flows into the Witenwasserenreuss .
