The Witenwasserenreuss is an approximately seven kilometers long right tributary of the Furkareuss , the upper reaches of the Reuss , in the Swiss canton of Uri . It flows through the Witenwaseren valley in the municipality of Realp .

geography

course

The Witenwasserenreuss rises from a firn at about 2490  m above sea level. M. a little below the 2889  m above sea level. M. high Hüenerstocks and only a little east of the Witenwasseren glacier . It initially flows northeast towards the bottom of the valley, which it reaches in the In den Stegen area . Here it takes the water directly from Pizzo Lucendro ( 2889  m above sea level ) and turns to the north-northwest. Immediately afterwards the meltwater of the Witenwasseren glacier flows in from the left.

At the lower end of the valley, the Gatscholabach flows in from the right and then the Muttenreuss directly from the left , before the river turns north-northeast and forms a small gorge. A little later, the Witenwasserenreuss flows into the here smaller Furkareuss from the right at Alp Geren .
