The forester Kazlų Rūda (lit. Kazlų Rūdos mokomoji miškų urėdija , formerly forestry operation Kazlų Rūda , Kazlų Rūdos miškų ūkis ) is a state enterprise (lit. miškų urėdija , dt. ' Forester ') in the municipality of Kazlų Rūda , in eastern Lithuania . history

Forest management began in 1820 . In 1850, the plan for logging was made for the period 1850-1879 and then for the period 1887-1896. In 1862 the Kaunas - Kybartai railway road was built through the southeastern part of the Kazlų Rūda Forest and in 1908 the surrounding forest boundaries were measured. In 1920 the Kazlų Rūda chief forestry was founded with 6 foresters at that time , which were later divided into two forest offices (Kazlų Rūda and Jūrė ). In 1945, the Jūrė Chief Forestry and the Kazlų Rūda Chief Forestry Department were merged to form the Kazlų Rūda Forestry Industry ( Kazlų Rūdos miško pramonės ūkis ). In 1947 the forestry enterprise Kazlų Rūda ( Kazlų Rūdos miškų ūkis ) was founded with an area of ​​57,652 hectares. In 1957, the Kazlų Rūda forestry enterprise was integrated into the Kazlų Rūda forestry enterprise. In 1982, a branch of the Forest Science Department of the Lithuanian Agricultural Academy was established at the forestry enterprise . In 1991, the head forestry department of Kazlų Rūda became the independent chief forestry department of Marijampolė , and in 1994 the chief forestry department of Kazlų Rūda was restructured into an academic forestry teaching office.

The main activity is the cultivation of forest plants and trees (pine, spruce, alder, birch, linden, maple, larch).
