Obergangkofen is a district of the municipality of Kumhausen in the Lower Bavarian district of Landshut . Until 1971 it formed an independent municipality.
location
Obergangkofen is located about three kilometers southeast of Kumhausen in the Isar-Inn hill country .
history
Gaunchofen or Gänkhofen is first referred to as Hofmark in a document from 1422 . The place was in the year 1556 in the rule Geisenhausen . The owners of Hofmark Obergangkofen changed frequently. From the Hofmark, the Patrimonial Court, 2nd class, Obergangkofen emerged.
The municipality of Obergangkofen was created in 1813 from the tax district of the same name . It belonged to the regional court , district office and finally to the Landshut district. On January 1, 1971, as part of the regional reform in Bavaria, the municipality of Obergangkofen was incorporated into the new municipality of Kumhausen . In 1987 Obergangkofen had 385 inhabitants. In 2011 the district had around 570 inhabitants.

- Parish Church of St. Ulrich. The nave of the late Gothic building from the second half of the 15th century was changed to Baroque style in the middle of the 18th century.
