Berg is a district, a district and part of the municipality of Landshut in Lower Bavaria . These three room concepts are not congruent.

The formerly independent climatic health resort was incorporated on April 1, 1928 together with the municipality of Achdorf . The extent of the former municipality of Berg corresponds roughly to today's Berg district with an area of 226 hectares. In the Berg district there are Trausnitz Castle , a primary school, a kindergarten, the Heilig Blut parish church , the Maria Bründl pilgrimage chapel , the Adelmann Castle , the Dräxlmaierschlösschen , the Herzogsschlösschen in the Herzogsgarten and the Steppach castle stable . Trausnitz Castle was a separate part of the municipality until 1962. Apart from the parish village Berg there were no other parts of the parish in the former parish of Berg. The place names Annaberg and Hofberg still appear on official maps.

The Berg district, commonly known as Hofberg , one of 11 districts of Landshut, has an area of 539  hectares and is therefore wider than the district of the same name. The Berg district also includes the districts (or parts of the district belonging to the city of Landshut) Hohenegglkofen (with the districts Bartreith, Berggrub, Hagrain, Sallmannsberg, Schopperhof on an area of 137 hectares), Götzdorf (with the hamlet of Salzdorf and an area of 84 Hectares) and Niederkam (44 hectares, districts of Englberg and Ehrnstorf). As of December 31, 2009, a total of 4434 people live there, which corresponds to a population density of around 823 people per square kilometer. The district is considered the rich district of Landshut. The Hofgarten also belongs to the Berg district, but not to the Berg district, but to the Landshut district (old town).

Berg was a Hofmark . The village is the seat of the Heilig Blut parish.
