Hohenegglkofen is a district of the municipality of Kumhausen in the Lower Bavarian district of Landshut . Until 1972 it formed an independent municipality.

Hohenegglkofen is located about five kilometers east of Kumhausen in the Isar-Inn hill country .
history
The parish Ekkilinchouun (Hohenegglkofen) is described in the traditions of the Hochstift Freising as early as around 990 to 1000 . Hohenegglkofen later formed a chairman in the Adlkofen office of the Teisbach regional court . In 1752 it consisted of eight properties.
The community Hohenegglkofen belonged to the regional court, district office and finally to the district of Landshut . Districts were Allkofen, Allmannsdorf, Bartreit, Eck, Hagrain, Hillersbach, Hohenegglkofen, Kammer, Oberfimbach, Oberhöfen, Oberschönbach, Ried, Salmannsberg, Stradel, Unterhöfen, Vogen and Weihbüchl. On January 1, 1972, as part of the regional reform in Bavaria, the municipality of Hohenegglkofen was dissolved and most of it came with the town of Hohenegglkofen to the municipality of Kumhausen, the other part was incorporated into the independent city of Landshut . In 1987 Hohenegglkofen had 160 inhabitants.

- Parish Church of St. Johann Baptist . The late Gothic brick building dates from the 15th century. The four-bay wall pillar hall was extended to the north by a side aisle in the first half of the 18th century. The baroque high altar was built around 1680, the other furnishings are rococo from 1760 to 1770.
