Oberlößnitz town hall
The former Oberlößnitz town hall is located at Hauptstrasse 49 in the Oberlößnitz district of Radebeul . The building was put into operation on April 17, 1900. Today there is, among other things, the Christian children's house "Good Shepherd" , a day care center of the Children's Ark of Saxony .
description
The former town hall is now a two-storey, listed rental villa . The plastered building over quarry stone plinth is simple, on top sits a slate-covered, expanded truncated pyramid roof with hatchings . The window frames are made of sandstone. In the street front there is a three-storey central risalit with a balcony with rich ornamental grille, which lies on sandstone consoles. On the steep triangular gable of the risalit there was a roof turret , which is missing today.
The entrance is in a porch on the left side view, behind the house is a stair tower and a veranda.
history
Five years after the neighboring municipality of Niederlößnitz , the villa and health resort of Oberlößnitz also built a town hall. Until then, the seat of the municipal administration was in the house of the honorary municipal council, from 1892 to 1904 Friedrich Wilhelm Gläser.
After its time as town hall (probably after 1934, after the incorporation of Oberlößnitz into Radebeul) the building was rededicated as a rental villa.
During his time as Lord Mayor of Radebeul, Heinrich Severit lived at Hindenburgstrasse 49 (today Hauptstrasse 49).
Today there is a daycare center on the first and second floors, while the attic is privately owned.
