Oberlerbacher Mill
The Oberlerbacher Mühle (also Lerbacher Mühle) is a former water mill , which was built in Oberlerbach in the Sand district of Bergisch Gladbach in 1804 and was in operation until around 1890 .
Building description
The building initially consisted of a massive masonry cellar and two single-storey parallel structures, probably one after the other, with a gable roof in timber frame construction. The flour mill had an overshot water wheel that was driven by the Lerbach .
history
After it was closed, the building was used as a residential building and entered the list of architectural monuments in Bergisch Gladbach under No. 80 in 1985. The mill technology was lost over time. In the spring of 2015 , one of the two parallel house parts of the mill was gutted as part of a renovation by the architects Bousset & Duda; the younger other part of the house completely demolished. The restoration work was completed in May 2016.
