Protection purpose

The main protection purpose is the preservation of the landscape, which is characterized by the change of forest, field trees, hedges and wide grassland areas with their sometimes species-rich, flower-colored oat meadows. With its closeness to nature, diversity as well as the peculiarity and beauty of the existing landscape structures, the landscape fulfills its recreational function for the general public to a particular extent. The protected area also serves to protect and maintain the habitats of the FFH area Murg to the Upper Rhine, especially in the open area of the lean, lowland hay meadows there.
