The Obertor in Ortenberg , a town in the Wetterau district in Hesse , was built in the 13th century. The defense tower at Kasinostraße 23 is a protected monument .

The upper gate was built in the 13th century as part of the city fortifications . The square gate tower has a groin vault in its ogival passage . A parapet walkway with a cast bay window forms the end of the high tower . The battlements are no longer there today. The tower is covered by a hipped roof.
