The Welyka Wys ( Ukrainian Велика Вись , Russian Большая Высь / Bolschaja Wys ) is the left source river of the Synjucha in the catchment area of the Southern Bug in Ukraine .
The Welyka Wys rises 20 km east of Nowomyrhorod near Onykijewe . It flows through the Dnepr highlands in a westerly direction. It passes Novomyrhorod and continues its course along the border of the Kirowohrad and Cherkassy Oblasts before it meets the Tikytsch , with which it forms the Synjucha. The Welyka Wys has a length of 166 km and drains an area of 2860 km². The river is or was (status 1978) mainly fed by the snowmelt .
