Onykijewe ( Ukrainian Оникієве ; Russian Оникеево Onikejewo ) is a village in the center of the Ukrainian Oblast Kirowohrad with about 1500 inhabitants (2001).
The village, first mentioned in writing in the 15th century (another source mentions the mid-18th century as the founding time), is located in the Dnieper highlands at an altitude of 231 m at the source of the Welyka Wys , a source river of the Synjucha , 24 km southeast of the Rajon center Mala Wyska and about 45 km west of Oblastzentrum Kropywnyzkyj .
Onykijewe is the administrative center of the eponymous, 76.05 km² district council in the south of Mala Wyska district , to which the villages Passitschne ( Пасічне , ⊙ ) with about 140 inhabitants, Novokrasne ( Новокрасне , ⊙ ) with about 110 inhabitants, Novomychajliwka ( Новомихайлівка , ⊙ ) with about 250 inhabitants and Novoonykijewe ( Новооникієве , ⊙ ) with about 50 inhabitants.
