The Obertrumer See , occasionally also Obertrumersee , is the largest of the three Trumer Lakes in the Salzburg Flachgau region belonging to the Salzburg Lake District .

The Mattig (also called Mattigbach as a tributary) flows from south to north through the Obertrumer See and then the Grabensee , the Mattsee drains through a canal into the Obertrumer See.

The Obertrumer See is a swimming lake. In relation to the reference condition (type-specific natural condition), the water quality of the Obertrumer See is rated “good”.

There are bathing beaches in Seeham and Staffl (near Obertrum). The towns of Obertrum am See , Seeham and Mattsee are located on Obertrumer See .

Since 1998 there has been an electrically operated excursion ship "Seenland", which runs regularly on the Mattsee and Obertrumer See as part of special trips. In Austria, shipping that operates on two lakes is only available on the Plansee and Heiterwanger See .
