history

A farm located in today's area of Oberwillscheid, the Geroltshof , was probably first recorded in an interest register by Rorich III in 1415 . Mentioned in a document by Rennberg . The place was then called "Wyllenscheidt", although in a "brotherhood book" of the parish of Neustadt from 1601 no distinction was made between Willscheid and Oberwillscheid. In 1660, during an inventory in the area of the Electoral Cologne Office Altenwied zu Oberwillscheid, the Obristhof and the Unterste Hof were counted. In the context of censuses , Oberwillscheid was still listed as a farm together with Willscheid in 1830 , but was already shown separately as a hamlet in 1843 and comprised three residential and farm buildings each.
