Ismajil Oblast

The Izmail Oblast (also Oblast Ismail ; Ukrainian Ізмаїльська область / Ismajilska oblast , Russian Измаильская область / Ismailskaja oblast ) was an administrative unit in the Soviet Union and the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic . The administrative center was the city of Ismajil . The oblast covered an area of ​​12,400 km².

The oblast was created by ukase of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Soviet Union on August 7, 1940 as Akkerman Oblast (with the Akkerman Oblast Center , Russian Аккерманская область) and existed until its dissolution on February 15, 1954, as the area attached to Odessa Oblast has been.
