Starokosatsche ( Ukrainian Старокозаче ; Russian Староказачье Starokasatschje , Romanian Cazaci ) is a village in Odessa Oblast in southwest Ukraine with about 5200 inhabitants (2004).
Founded in 1824 in the historical Bessarabia region , the village is the administrative center of the district council of the same name in Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyj district , to which the village of Zelenivka ( Зеленівка ⊙ ) with about 170 inhabitants also belongs.
Between 1940 and 1956 the village was the district center of the Starokosach district of the same name within the Ismajil Oblast .
Starokosatsche is 6 km west of the Dniester estuary on the bank of the Alkaliya ( Алкалія ), a 67 km long tributary to the Burnas Liman . The regional road P-72 runs through the village, which turns into the Moldovan regional road R-30 ' shortly after the village at a border station to Moldova . The M 15 trunk road runs southeast of the village .
